MANOLO FORTICH, BUKIDNON - Demonstrating its steadfast commitment to safety, emergency preparedness, and risk reduction, the Bukidnon II Electric Cooperative, Inc. (BUSECO) successfully hosted and participated in the 3rd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on September 10, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. at the BUSECO Main Office in Tankulan, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon.

The earthquake drill was conducted in adherence to National Electrification Administration (NEA) Technical Advisory No. 1, Series of 2026, which strongly encourages all electric cooperatives to execute regular simulation exercises pursuant to National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) Memorandum No. 11, Series of 2026. The initiative aims to proactively prepare personnel for the potential impacts of major seismic events and minimize workplace risks.

A vital highlight of the successful afternoon activity was a comprehensive orientation and safety briefing delivered by a speaker from the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (LDRRMO) of Manolo Fortich. The LDRRMO speaker underscored the critical value of disaster readiness, efficient evacuation protocols, and strict adherence to standard earthquake response procedures among corporate and cooperative workforces.

Partners and associates actively engaged in the simulation, executing standardized safety measures, including drop, cover, and hold protocols, before orderly evacuating to the designated assembly area.

Through such regular collaborative exercises with local disaster management authorities, BUSECO continues to foster a culture of safety and preparedness, ensuring the protection and resilience of its workforce and the community it serves.
