The Association of Institutional Managers – Mindanao Electric Cooperatives (AIM–Mindanao ECs), in partnership with the First Bukidnon Electric Cooperative, Inc. (FIBECO), hosted a specialized workshop titled “Powering the Narrative: Social Media Content Creation and AI Fundamentals.” The event gathered Institutional Services Department Managers and Information Officers from Mindanao’s electric cooperatives to strengthen their capacity in digital communication and modern stakeholder engagement.
Building Digital Competence for Cooperatives
The workshop highlighted the growing importance of social media and AI-driven tools in the cooperative sector. As electric cooperatives continue to serve diverse communities, effective communication has become essential, not only for disseminating advisories and updates but also for fostering transparency, trust, and active participation among member-consumer-owners (MCOs).
By equipping participants with strategies for content creation and AI awareness, AIM–Mindanao ensures that cooperatives can:
- Deliver timely and engaging information to MCOs across multiple platforms.
- Strengthen institutional branding and visibility in an increasingly digital environment.
- Use AI responsibly to streamline communication processes and enhance service delivery.
Relevance to BUSECO and Its MCOs
For BUSECO, as a pioneer in rural electrification, the cooperative recognizes that empowered communication is as vital as empowered communities. Through digital storytelling and AI-enhanced strategies, BUSECO can:
- Provide clearer advisories on power interruptions, programs, and services.
- Celebrate milestones and community partnerships with greater reach and resonance.
- Engage MCOs in cooperative activities, ensuring that every member’s voice is heard and valued.
Commitment to Modern Engagement
The combined activities of AIM–Mindanao ECs, strategic alignment meetings and this forward-looking workshop, underscore the Association’s commitment to compliance excellence, institutional unity, and modern communication practices. By embracing innovation, electric cooperatives across Mindanao, including BUSECO, are better positioned to meet the evolving needs of their stakeholders while staying true to cooperative values of service, solidarity, and social responsibility.
